14 years experience in college admission as Founder/Director of College Goals. 14 years at Brown University, Associate Dean of College.
I am the Founder and Director of COLLEGE GOALS LLC, a higher education consultancy specializing in U.S. and U.K. college admission for American and international families.
We offer the unusual breadth and diversity of experience of a team of expert counselors who have worked for decades in university administration and college admissions: a veteran Associate Dean from Brown University; a former Associate Director of Admission (also from Brown); a former Coordinator of International Admissions and of Transfer Applications at the University of Vermont; and a former Director of College Counseling at high-performing private and public East Coast secondary schools. Patience, good humor, warm support and maximum flexibility are hallmarks of our customized consulting services.
While as counselors we conference regularly and pool our collective experience to the benefit of all our students, each student is guided by a personal consultant. We focus on our students, adhering to strict professional standards of confidentiality and discretion, and we also warmly welcome communications with parents, for we understand their concerns.
In addition to drawing on our international backgrounds and experience, frequent travel abroad, and office sites across time zones, we use the Internet, phone, our proprietary interactive software system, Skype and other available technologies to develop and maintain easy-access and rapid responses with our students and parents.
We prefer to begin working comprehensively with students in their 10th grade (sophomore) or 11th grade (junior) school year, so that we can counsel our students as they develop their personal and academic goals and advise through course and activity choices in the critical years of high school. However we also offer shorter specific counseling options, and we always accept some pro bono students.
As a ‘boutique’ practice of very experienced counselors, we each accept a limited number of client families annually so that we are accessible and able to provide our students and parents with the expert information, experience, guidance and support for which College Goals is noted.
Responsibilities included college programs for the academic advising for first and second-year students at Brown University.
