Hello Ms. Silver. For letters of recimmendation, does it matter if the student had the teacher as a freshman or sophomore? Thank you

Hello! Thanks for your question.

The issue of recommendation letters is best addressed on a case-by-case basis. While it's generally preferable for recommendation letters to come from teachers the student has had during 11th grade, there are exceptions. For instance, teachers who know students well both inside and outside the classroom, or have taught students for multiple years, are often able to write particularly strong letters. I would need more information about your specific situation in order to advise you appropriately.
